The opportunity: We’re seeking an experienced Documentary Executive to assist with the delivery and day-to-day management of our factual funding programs and initiatives, supporting the creation of all formats of documentary content delivering benefits to the WA Community. From guiding projects through the funding process to providing strategic advice on non-scripted content, this role offers the opportunity to combine your deep understanding of the documentary landscape and practical production experience in a hands-on, senior role, directly supporting the growth of the WA film industry. This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract, based in our Perth CBD office. The role will be responsible for: - Assisting in the design & development of programs and initiatives to support the creation of all formats of documentary content, delivering benefits to the WA community. - Providing strategic advice to senior management on current trends in non-scripted content (feature, television, online platforms). - Delivery and management of day-to-day activities of all Screenwest factual development and production programs, from application stage to delivery of funded projects. - Participating in funding assessment panels of factual projects and engage in high-level and project viability conversations with assessors. - Providing analysis of factual projects submitted to Screenwest, in line with program guidelines. - Managing and monitoring funded projects to ensure effective delivery of milestones and in accordance with contractual obligations. - Responding to enquiries or concerns from industry practitioners and other stakeholders related to documentary/factual development and production programs. - Regularly engaging with local and national screen industry stakeholders and proactively seeking opportunities for the WA community. - Representing Screenwest at forums, markets, and industry events as required, promoting our services and the WA screen industry. - Preparing and presenting reports, budgets, and statistical data to senior management, the CEO, and Board as required. What you’ll bring: - Significant experience in development and/or production of a wide range of market driven, non-scripted projects. - Experience working with documentary and/or factual budgets. - Strong knowledge of screen financing, production logistics and post-production practices. - Highly organised with the ability in managing actions to deadlines. - Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders. - Recent experience on documentary production in a creative capacity is preferred but not essential.
